Shay’s Dancing With the Stars Recap Week 10 – Finals

Well last night was the start of the finals for Dancing with the Stars; they conclude this evening (May 20). The final 4 contestants performed 2 dances each, including the much anticipated free style. So who was eliminated and which 3 moved on to tonight's finals; in hopes of winning the coveted mirror ball trophy? Read on.

For the first dance, the judges chose for the dancers to repeat the routines they performed during the 'switch up' week. Their next dance was the freestyle where they were allowed to do what they wanted.

James and Peta performed the tango. Carrie Ann wasn't as impressed as Len and Bruno and gave them a 9 while Bruno and Len each gave 10's. I personally, wasn't impressed with their freestyle. It was a little too hip-hop for me and I think Len too. He gave it a 9 and Carrie Ann and Bruno gave it 10's.

Meryl and Maks first dance of the evening was an Argentine tango (one of my favorite dances) and they knocked it out of the park. A perfect 30 from the judges and I don't think you could find anyone that would argue with that! Their freestyle was even better, the audience and Carrie Ann were in tears. It's going to be absolutely devastating if they don't walk away with the trophy! And I agree with Carrie Ann...they should get married.

Candace and Mark had a tough week with Mark injuring his shoulder during rehearsals but they pulled off two dances that didn't seem to show the injury even existed. Up first was the quickstep for which they received all 9's. There second dance was a disco inspired routine. I wasn't a fan but I do think Candace has had the most improvement and is the embodiment of the shows concept.

Amy and Derek had a salsa for the first dance and received perfect scores. She still amazes me with the preciseness of her moves, if you couldn't see her prosthesis then you would never know they weren't her real legs. There second dance was a little over the top, with Amy swinging above the crowd on a rope. Len wasn't a fan and actually docked them a point so they received 29 out of the 30 for their freestyle.

At the end of the night one couple was eliminated and that was Peta and James. Tonight will conclude the season with one of the last three couples winning the mirror ball trophy. My best guess is Maks and Meryl but surprises are part of the show so who knows!
