If you're familiar with Charles Addams' creepy and kooky family of oddballs from their classic comic strip or television show, you'll enjoy this musical's humorous take on Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, Pugsley, Cousin Itt, and Uncle Fester.
The show follows 18-year-old Wednesday Addams' attempt to introduce her boyfriend's normal, Midwestern family to her... well... very not-so-normal family. The meeting descends into chaos when Fester and the Addams family ancestors interfere further. Despite each character's turmoil, the Addams Family make peace with each other and their potential new in-laws, and the show even ends in Fester finding love.
The original Broadway production of 'The Addams Family' ran from 2010 to 2011 and was nominated for Tony Awards, Drama Desk Awards, and more.
Tickets for 'The Addams Family' go on sale starting October 7, and can be purchased here. General admission is $12, senior/military/youth tickets are $10, and McMurry staff, students, and faculty get in for $5.
The curtain goes up at 7:30 PM on October 14 and 16 (Thursday and Saturday), 6:00 PM on October 15 (Friday), and at 2:00 PM on October 17 (Sunday).
So, if you're up for paying a hilarious call on America's favorite mysterious, spooky, and altogether ooky family, don't miss McMurry University Department of Theatre's production of 'The Addams Family', October 14 through 17.
