Marvel One-Shot ‘All Hail the King’ Unleashes New Clip
Just last month, Marvel released the first clip from their upcoming one-shot, 'All Hail the King,' and today they've unleashed a new one featuring quasi-villain Mandarin -- or Trevor Slattery, rather, played by Ben Kingsley. Seems we haven't seen the last of Slattery following his involvement in 'Iron Man 3,' and we'll be able to see more of his story when 'Thor: The Dark World' hits DVD and Blu-ray this month. If you're impatient, we've got another sneak peek at Kingsley reprising his role in the new short.
The clip debuted on USA Today, and features Slattery/Mandarin interacting with a familiar face in prison. As you'll recall from the first clip, the short follows a reporter played by rising star Scoot McNairy ('Argo'), who's managed to secure an interview with the eccentric Slattery, whose outlandish performance helped obscure the actions of the real villain in 'Iron Man 3.' The one-shot tracks the reporter's quest to uncover the truth behind the real Slattery -- trouble is, there's a real terrorist organization behind the events of 'Iron Man 3,' and Slattery is going to have to pay a price for pretending to be their leader so publicly.
As ‘Iron Man 3′ scribe Drew Pearce (who also wrote and directed ‘All Hail the King’) described, “Imagine a real terrorist organization whose beliefs were long held and religious for thousands of years, and imagine a drunk, British actor coming along and essentially telling the world that he’s the face of your organization. I think they would be right to be quite angry.”
Watch the new clip below, and be sure to check out 'All Hail the King' when 'Thor: The Dark World' hits DVD and Blu-ray on February 25.
