See The Last Supper Come Alive In Abilene, Texas
As Easter approaches here in Abilene, one local church is bringing one of the most powerful moments in history to life, and I can tell you firsthand, this is something you do not want to miss.

The folks at St. James United Methodist Church are once again presenting their “Living Last Supper”, and if you’ve never experienced it, you’re in for something truly special.
A Texas Tradition That Brings The Bible To Life
The “Living Last Supper” is inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s famous painting, but this is far more than a visual, it’s a moving, live performance.
Each disciple steps forward and shares his thoughts, emotions, and doubts during one of the most pivotal moments in the Bible. And after each one speaks, they all ask the same powerful question:
“Is it I?”
That question alone will stick with you long after the performance ends.
Originally introduced at St. James back in 1997, this production has become a biennial tradition in Abilene, bringing together members of the church and community to tell this story in a deeply personal way.
Why This Abilene Church Event Stands Out
I’ve attended several events at St. James over the years, and I’ll tell you this, they do things right. Every presentation I’ve seen there has been heartfelt, well done, and incredibly meaningful.
This isn’t just a church play, it’s an experience.
It gives you a chance to slow down, reflect, and really take in the meaning of Easter in a way that’s both emotional and unforgettable.
Dates, Times, And What You Need To Know
The 2026 performances will take place at 7 PM on:
- Saturday, March 28
- Sunday, March 29
- Thursday, April 2
And here’s the best part: it’s completely free to attend.
The church is located at 3100 Barrow Street in Abilene, and seating is typically first-come, first-served.
A Meaningful Way To Celebrate Easter In Texas
With everything going on in our busy lives, moments like this matter. Whether you attend church regularly or you just want to experience something different this Easter season, this is a powerful way to reconnect with faith, history, and community.
If you’re looking for something that will truly move you this Easter, this might be it.
And when you go, take someone with you.
