New Lee Ann Womack music will be here soon. The singer has announced that her 2017 album, The Lonely, the Lonesome & the Gone, will drop on Oct. 27.

The album follows 2014's The Way I'm Livin.' and marks her first release on her new label, ATO Records. It's a step in a new direction for the beloved country singer, who tapped into the musical well of the Lone Star State to find the right sound for this project.

“I wanted to get out of Nashville, and tap into what deep East Texas has to offer musically and vibe-wise," Womack explains in a press release. "I wanted to make sure this record had a lot of soul in it, because real country music has soul. I wanted to remind people of that.”

The soul-infused album, which is described as "an audacious, sharp-edged work of art," includes 14 tracks that are a mix of originals and remakes, with Womack covering Lefty Frizzell's "Long Black Veil, "He Called Me Baby" by Harlan Howard and George Jones' gospel hit, "Take The Devil Out of Me." According to the Womack recorded her rendition of "Take The Devil Out of Me" in the exact spot in Houston's SugarHill Studio where Jones originally recorded the track.

The "I Hope You Dance" singer will continue to serve as an opening act on Alan Jackson‘s 2017 Honky Tonk Highway Tour through late fall. The Lonely, the Lonesome & the Gone is available for preorder now.
