The Kiwanis Club of Abilene has just released a statement about the cancellation of the 72nd Annual Pancake Day and Auction.

It is with great sadness that we have decided to cancel the 72nd Pancake Day. The last time we had to cancel Pancake Day was during World War II. Following the war, Pancake Day was resumed at the McMurry dining hall on Tuesday, April 10, 1951 and has been going strong ever since. Watch for news about the resumption of Pancake Day in 2021.

It's been over 70 years since there was a delay, cancellation and or postponement of any kind for the Kiwanis Club of Abilene Annual Pancake Day and Auction. The cancellation of this year's annual event should come as no surprise, because the Kiwanis Club of Abilene has always looked out for the best interest of our community.

Event organizers promise to honor tickets that have already been purchased for this years Pancake Day. Furthermore all the donations for the auction and or raffle will be held over for next years event. Being that this years Pancake Day has been cancelled, the Kiwanis are still collecting donations for next years event.

Being that 2020 has been such a rollercoaster year, nearly all of our local non-prophet and charities organizations have struggled to raise the funds necessary to just simply operate.  So, if you would like to donate, volunteer and or need any additional information from the Kiwanis Club of Abilene please call 325-673-1341.
