Keith Urban to Play Guitar With Brad Paisley While Recovering From Throat Surgery

Keith Urban may not be able to speak or sing while he recovers from throat surgery, which he had to remove a polyp from his vocal chord, but he will certainly continue to work and play guitar to keep himself busy. Urban will pass the time with good friend and fellow country superstar Brad Paisley — the two will simply handle their instruments, and you certainly don’t need to talk in order to play guitar. That’s why musical is a universal and voiceless language.

According to CTV, Paisley said, “We’re big guitar junkies, and we wanted to get together and maybe go through some amplifiers and go through some gear. I told him, ‘Let’s do that. You don’t have to talk. We’ll get together. We’ll play guitar, set up some amps, go through some tubes, try some stuff out and tweak.’ I’ll do all the talking, which I am very capable of. He can just nod and grunt and do whatever he’s allowed to do.”

That’s what good friends do for one another. Sounds like Urban and Paisley will embark on a good old fashioned “bromance” while Urban recovers. Paisley also joked that Urban’s silence will likely be welcomed by his wife, actress Nicole Kidman. “I’m sure Nicole loves it. It’s got to be great for her,” he said.
