Of the top 25 most dangerous places in the United States of America list for 2025, Texas had zero listings while our neighbor, New Mexico, had 1.

U. S. News and World Report just posted their list of the 25 most dangerous places in the United States of America and, thankfully, Texas didn't make the cut. Granted, we have crime in the lone star state too but not to the extent the cities on the "best" of list do.

Our westerly neighbor, New Mexico had one in the top 25 - Albuquerque.

U. S. News and World Report studied murder and property crime rates compiled by the FBI to generate their list. They also used the same categories they used to build their "best" places in the USA to live list.

What Categories Did They Use?

They were quality of life, value index, desirability index,  job market index and the cities net migration. All of those, except met migration, had a bunch of sub categories you can read here.
