Lotsa Lederhosen! Pics From Lubbock’s Oktoberfest 2026 at Spirit Ranch
Lubbock may be a long way from Munich, Germany, but you wouldn't have known it from the Oktoberfest celebration at Spirit Ranch this past Sunday.
The 6th Annual Oktoberfest took place Sunday, October 11th, at the Pavilion at Spirit Ranch, bringing together local craft breweries, German food, live music and a little good old-fashioned West Texas fun.
And with free admission, it was an opportunity to enjoy a fall afternoon without spending a dime just to get through the gate!
Spirit Ranch Celebrated Six Years of Oktoberfest
Spirit Ranch and Scoggin Dickey Parts presented this year's celebration in Lubbock's beautiful Escondido Canyon.
If you've never visited Spirit Ranch, it's one of those places that makes you forget you're actually in Lubbock.

There are enormous trees, plenty of green space and scenery that looks a whole lot different from the cotton fields and flat land we're used to seeing around here.
It's a pretty great setting for an Oktoberfest celebration.
This year's event marked the sixth annual gathering, continuing a tradition that's become part of Lubbock's fall calendar.

Seven Breweries Helped Bring Oktoberfest to Lubbock
Of course, you can't have an Oktoberfest without beer.
Well, I suppose you COULD, but it would probably be a pretty disappointing Oktoberfest.
This year's celebration featured an impressive lineup of seven local and regional craft breweries:
- Brewery LBK
- Good Line Beer Co.
- Mano Negra
- Pondaseta Brewing Co.
- Tall City Brewing Co.
- Two Docs Brewing
- Triple J Brewery
The lineup highlighted just how much the craft beer scene has grown in Lubbock and across West Texas.
German food and local vendors were also part of the festivities, giving the afternoon plenty of traditional Oktoberfest flavor.

Live Music, Lederhosen and Some Seriously Tired Arms
It wouldn't be a proper Lubbock celebration without live music.
SPiVEY and Joy Riot were featured on this year's entertainment lineup, adding a little West Texas soundtrack to the Bavarian-themed festivities.
The event also included a best-dressed contest, giving folks an excuse to break out their lederhosen and other traditional German-inspired outfits.

And then there was the beer stein-holding competition.
If you've never tried holding a large beer stein straight out in front of you for an extended period, it sounds easy.
Until about thirty seconds into it.
Then suddenly you're wondering why your arm feels like you've been holding up the front end of a Chevrolet Silverado.
It's one of those Oktoberfest traditions that's a lot more entertaining than it probably has any right to be.

Oktoberfest Wasn't Just for the Grown-Ups
Despite the obvious emphasis on beer, Spirit Ranch's Oktoberfest was designed as a family-friendly celebration.
Bounce houses, games and other children's activities were included in the afternoon's festivities.
That made it an event where families could spend some time together while enjoying the cooler fall season.
And let's face it, finding something in Lubbock that entertains both adults and kids without charging admission is always a nice bonus.
Another Oktoberfest in the Books for Lubbock
The sixth annual celebration brought together several things Lubbock does particularly well: local businesses, live music, food and community events.
And Spirit Ranch provided a setting that was just about perfect for an afternoon inspired by one of Germany's most famous traditions.
With six years now on the books, Oktoberfest has established itself as another reason to look forward to October in Lubbock.
We may not have the Bavarian Alps, but we've got West Texas breweries, local musicians and people willing to compete to see who can hold a giant mug of beer the longest!
