You can’t make this stuff up: a Texas man is accused of stealing five deer feeders and selling them off like it was Black Friday at Cabela’s.

What In Tarnation?

Picture it: wide Texas skies, deer moseying up for a snack… and someone sneaking off with the buffet. Yep, that’s what the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office says happened when Blake Kamprath allegedly swiped five deer feeders from local stores like Lowe’s, Gebo’s, and Buffalo Gap Hardware, then sold them to unsuspecting buyers.

Deputies say if you bought a feeder from this guy in the past six weeks, maybe call before the game warden does.

How Much Did He Bank?

No word on what Kamprath charged, but a new feeder can run a few hundred bucks, so if you scored one for less than your last Whataburger order, you might wanna check that “deal.”

You know, come to think of it, “deer feeder thief” could be a sweet country song or something. (Country artists, you’re welcome…just give me props.) But it’s no joke for landowners trying to manage wildlife. Losing gear costs money and time, and it messes with the hunting season flow.

The sheriff’s office is asking locals to come forward if they unknowingly bought one of the stolen feeders. Meanwhile, the rest of us might be double-checking Facebook Market for suspicious “like new” listings.

Moral of the story? If it sounds too good to be true, it’s probably stolen. And if the deer could talk, they’d be calling 911 about their missing dinner bell. Stay vigilant out there, Texas!
