Abilene, Let’s Fiesta: Business Mercado Rocks October 10 With Live Music and Family Fun
Give us live music, a chance to discover local businesses, and an excuse to get out of the house, and I’m interested. Throw in a mariachi band, and now we’ve got ourselves a Saturday.
Business Mercado 2026: Fiesta en el Barrio is coming to the Abilene Convention Center on October 10, bringing neighbors together to celebrate Hispanic culture and the businesses that help our community thrive.

Business Mercado Brings Abilene Neighbors Together
Presented by the Abilene Chamber’s Hispanic Business Council, this year’s theme is “Bringing Neighborhoods Together.”
That’s something I can get behind. We talk about supporting local, but events like this give us a chance to meet the people behind those businesses. You might discover a service you need, your next favorite local business, or somebody you’ve been driving past for years without stopping in.
Businesses of all sizes and industries will have opportunities to connect with customers and each other.
Live Music, Dancing, and Fun for the Kids

The entertainment lineup includes ballet folklórico, cumbia dance lessons, a Tejano band, and a mariachi band. Cumbia lessons? Somebody may need to explain to my feet what the rest of me is trying to accomplish.
Families can also check out the Children’s Corner, with activities including face painting and hair tinsel.
