ACU Football Lands First National TV Game Since 2014 Against Texas Tech
For the first time in more than a decade, the ACU Wildcats in Texas are headed back to national television.
Abilene Christian University's September 5 matchup against Texas Tech has officially been picked up by FS1, marking the Wildcats' first nationally televised football game since 2014. That's a pretty big moment for ACU, the university, and honestly, the entire Big Country.

According to ESPN, kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. on September 5 in Lubbock.
ACU Football Is Getting National Attention
Let's be real for a second. National TV games aren't handed out like free samples. When a network like FS1 decides to put your game in front of a national audience, it's because people are paying attention.
Over the past several seasons, ACU has built a reputation as one of the most competitive FCS programs in Texas, and that success is starting to get noticed outside of Abilene. For Wildcat fans, this is another sign that ACU football continues to move in the right direction.
A Huge Opportunity For ACU And The Big Country
As someone who lives and works right here in Abilene, I love seeing local teams get their moment in the spotlight. This isn't just another football game. It's a chance for ACU to showcase the university, the football program, and the city of Abilene to a nationwide audience.
And if ACU can make this one as exciting as the last meeting with Texas Tech, it’s gonna get loud in the Key City.
Nobody Has Forgotten That Wild Texas Tech Game
If you watched the last meeting between these two teams, you probably still remember it.
Back in 2024, ACU nearly pulled off one of the biggest upsets in college football when the Wildcats pushed Texas Tech to the brink before falling 52-51 in overtime. It was one of those games where every time you thought it was over, something crazier happened.
Honestly, ACU earned a lot of respect that night.
