There have been some pretty memorable television catchphrases, from ‘Dragnet’s’ “Just the facts, ma’am” to ‘South Park’s’ “Oh my God, They Killed Kenny!” But perhaps the small screen’s most famous — and certainly its most uttered — catchphrase is actually more grunt than phrase.

Yes, we’re talking about the Homer Simpson ‘D’oh!,’ which gets blurted out whenever the four-fingered everyman gets hit with another one of his patented indignities.
