The Reason Why Gwen Stefani is Leaving ‘The Voice’ For Season 18
Earlier this week, it was announced that Nick Jonas will be taking the place of Gwen Stefani as a coach on NBC's The Voice for season 18. The big news left fans wondering why Stefani would not be returning to the show's next season.
The competition show has been known to rotate the cast of coaches, which is part of the reason why Stefani will not be present for the upcoming spring 2020 season, Entertainment Tonight reports.
In the spring, Stefani will also return to Las Vegas for her Just A Girl residency in both February and May. Stefani began the residency at Planet Hollywood's Zappos Theater back in June of 2018.
Stefani hasn't been the only coach to take a break from coaching on the television show. Previous coaches include Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Alicia Keys, CeeLo Green, Christina Aguilera, Shakira and Pharrell Williams.
Earlier this year, coach Adam Levine infamously left the show after sixteen seasons.
Jonas will finish his current Happiness Begins World Tour with his brothers on February 22 of 2020 before heading to tape the show. The Jonas Brother will be coaching alongside the show's current coaches for next season: Blake Shelton, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson.
