‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7 Leaks Sixth Episode, But Not By Hackers (Again)
Boy, that HBO has some rotten luck. Not only did Game of Thrones and HBO overall suffer a malicious hack, but said pirates didn’t even have to release episodes online. Game of Thrones Season 7 has accidentally leaked its own penultimate episode.
Where the most recent leak of “The Spoils of War” was traced to one of HBO’s Indian distributors (several arrests have since been made), it was HBO Spain that accidentally aired this coming Sunday’s sixth hour for a short time. As you can imagine, the brief window of availability was enough for various livestreams to watch and capture all the major spoilers, and rip HD copies that have since spread over the internet.
For what it’s worth, while the infamous HBO hackers weren’t responsible for the sixth episode’s leak (no official title yet, though most have it as “Death Is the Enemy”), the hacks did lead to multiple script synopses and descriptions of the episode that now appear accurate. This past Sunday saw Curb Your Enthusiasm and other shows leak full episodes, while HBO has attempted to keep business as usual.
Leaks haven’t adversely affected viewership for Game of Thrones Season 7 (practically the opposite), but watch the trailer for Sunday’s sixth episode below, and do HBO a solid by watching live.
