Dyess We Care Team Hosts Operation Special Santa To Help Nursing Home Veterans
I know that Abilene is so lucky to have Dyess Air Force Base in our city. Furthermore, the men and women that serve give so much back to our community that we must all come together to give a little something back to those that have served. This year the Operation Special Santa Carwash on Saturday, October 15th, 2022 will go to benefit our veterans who are in nursing homes.
The saddest part about this wonderful event is that those men and women that are in nursing homes throughout the big country have nobody to come and spend time with them during the holidays. So, our Dyess We Care Team made up of active-duty airmen and women will be hosting a fundraiser carwash to raise the necessary funds to purchase a small gift for those in nursing homes.
LOOK: This IS How The Dyess We Care Team Takes Care of Our Veterans
The most heartwarming part of all this is when these young airmen and women show up at a nursing home and the retiree is told that they have company the look on the nursing home patient's face is very moving and will put a tear in your eye. Many of the nursing home residents haven't had any visitors in a long time.
So please help the Dyess We Care Team make more memorable moments in our local veterans' lives. Bring your vehicle to the Dyess We Care Team's benefit carwash on October 15th so that these fine military folks have the necessary funds to surprise more veterans than ever before.
The Operation Special Santa Carwash will happen in the parking lot between the Hobby Lobby and Fox Coffee parking lot at 4574 South 14th Street. The Dyess We Care Teams' Operation Special Santa Carwash will run from 10 AM until 4 PM
