Brett Eldredge may be in the Christmas spirit as he prepares to release the deluxe edition of his holiday album Glow, but the country star is also looking ahead to his next project. At a recent press event, Eldredge told The Boot and other reporters that he's planning on releasing new music in 2019.

"I would think so. I would hope so," the singer says. "Gotta keep writing!"

Eldredge goes on to say that the creative process of making an album can require a little patience as he waits for the right inspiration to strike.

"I've actually been writing it for a while," he says. "I haven't had tons of time, but I'm one of those guys, I have to keep searching for what I'm looking for until I find that one song that helps me shape a record. So right now I'm in the middle of all that."

Fortunately for the singer, there's no need to rush the process -- yet. "I've got a pretty good amount of time," he continues. "But I don't want to get down to three weeks left and I've still got a whole record to write. I wanna have a lot of time to prepare."

In the meantime, Eldredge is busy with touring, both in support of his holiday music and on the fall leg of his headlining 2018 The Long Way Tour, with the support of country up-and-comers Devin Dawson and Abby Anderson. Despite his demanding schedule, though, Eldredge says he's optimistic about writing for the new album.

"I'm definitely getting into a little more of an inspired spot than I've been in for a while," he adds.
