More Information

Brenda Kay has a personal connection to open mic events in Abilene. It's how she got started on her music career path that led to Texas country favorites like 'Don't Let Me Down', the crowd-favorite 'Weedeater', and the title-track to her debut CD, 'Dirts Still Red'. Here's Brenda performing an acoustic version of 'Dirt's Still Red':

Now, BK returns to the open mic night stage as the host, with the opportunity to pay it forward to other talented performers, and folks just looking to have a good time.

"I'm very excited to be hosting the newest Open Mic Night in [Abilene]. I got my start through an Open Mic Night ran by Benny Bartek and Tony Barker. They helped me so much and I hope I can do the same for newcomers! Come out and have some fun!"

This is an opportunity for singers and songwriters to take the stage, meet with fellow musicians, and showcase their talents. Any and all styles of music are welcome. Whether you want to sing one of your own songs or something written by somebody else, you're welcome to take the stage.
