POLL: Who Should Win Best Country Song at the 2019 Grammy Awards?
Best Country Song is a Grammy Awards trophy that is awarded to the songwriter(s) of the winning tune. Past nominees and winners have included country songwriting royalty, some of whom reappear on the list of nominees in 2019.
Leading the lineup of nominees are the writers of Cole Swindell's bittersweet love song "Break Up in the End," Jessie Jo Dillon, Chase McGill and Jon Nite. They're nominated in the category along with the writers of "Dear Hate," by Maren Morris and Vince Gill -- Morris, Tom Douglas and David Hodges -- a song that came at a time it was much needed.
"I Lived It," by Blake Shelton, was written by Rhett Akins, Ross Copperman, Ashley Gorley and Ben Hayslip. Kacey Musgraves' "Space Cowboy," meanwhile, was penned by Musgraves along with Luke Laird and Shane McAnally.
Dan + Shay's hit song "Tequila," written by Nicolle Galyon, Jordan Reynolds and Dan Smyers, also earned the talented duo a nomination for Best Country Duo or Group Performance. The final song in this category, "When Someone Stops Loving You," by Little Big Town, was written by Hillary Lindsey, Chase McGill and the 2018 winner of this category, Lori McKenna.
