Graffiti Is Showing Up Around Abilene, Police Need Help
A trip through a local drive-thru recently caught my attention for all the wrong reasons.
My wife and I were making one of our evening stops at Dairy Queen when I noticed large graffiti sprayed on the side of the building near the drive-thru. The lettering appeared to be several feet tall and impossible to miss. Unfortunately, that's not the only place I've seen it. Over the last couple of weeks, I've noticed graffiti showing up around Abilene.
Now the Abilene Police Department is asking for our help.

Graffiti Is More Than Just Paint
According to the Abilene Police Department, graffiti and tagging create costly damage for property owners and businesses. Removing graffiti can cost hundreds or even thousands to restore the building or damaged area, and it often leaves a negative impression on neighborhoods and business districts.
City leaders, business owners, and law enforcement are working together to send a clear message: "Graffiti Is Not Welcomed Here In Abilene."

Why Reporting Graffiti Matters
Police say graffiti contributes to declining property values and may encourage additional vandalism if left unchecked. Reporting incidents quickly helps investigators identify patterns, document damage, and potentially identify those responsible.
If your property or business has been vandalized, APD encourages you to file a report online through the Abilene Police Department website.

I've said it many times before, and I'll say it again: If you know something, say something.
