It’s Time for Abilene Parks & Rec Division’s Trout Fest 2020
With Fall finally here in the Big Country, Abilene Parks and Recreation Division are offering several great opportunities to get out and enjoy our the great outdoors. The annual Trout Fest is scheduled for December 5, through December 15, 2020.
The Trout Fest kicks off at Cal Young Park, located at 950 T&P Lane. Anglers that want to compete in the annual Trout Fest will be able to register fish via a smartphone app and will compete in a variety of categories and age groups through December 15th.
A Texas Fishing Licenses is required for all participants that are age 17 and older. Signs with the QR code links to the app will be posted at Cal Young park. To officially enter into this free contest, you must scan the QR Code. For more information, go to Abilene Parks and Recreation website. The annual Trout Fest will go virtual and it will last for up to 10 days
So get all your tackle and fishing gear together and get ready to go fishing. The Texas Parks and Wildlife department is and will continue to stock Cal Young Park with rainbow trout. Additionally, please follow all CDC, State and local guidelines when it comes to practicing social distancing and above all be safe.
