Fun Family Fall Festivals Are Returning to West Texas in 2025
Is it that time of year again? Are the temperatures starting to cool down? Do you have plans for September 27th and 28th? The answer to all those is yes,And I enjoy attending as many church fall festivals every year. While we are just weeks away, it's never too early to start planning for some family fun that will be taking place right here in Abilene.

Sacred Heart Family Fall Festival Returns to Abilene
As the Texas heat gives way to cooler fall breezes, one of my favorite things to do is walk hand in hand with my wife through the many fall festivals hosted by our local churches. These gatherings remind me that faith, food, and family are still very much alive in our communities and around the Big Country.
One of the most beloved events is the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Fall Festival, set for Saturday and Sunday, September 27–28, 2025, at 837 Jeanette St. in Abilene. This long-standing tradition brings together families, friends, and neighbors for two days of food, fun, and fellowship.
Homemade Food, Live Music, and Community Spirit
While we don’t yet know exactly what will be on the menu this year, past festivals have featured everything from brisket and turkey legs to roasted corn, funnel cakes, and snow cones. A big part of the excitement is the variety of homemade dishes, as many parishioners prepare their family favorites and cultural recipes with love.
Last year’s crowd raved about the unique Puerto Rican and Filipino booths, and the Mexican breakfast on Sunday was a fan favorite. Fingers crossed, we’ll see those delicious traditions returning this year.

It’s not just about food, there will be live music, games for all ages, bingo, a silent auction, and a raffle. From toddlers to seniors, there's truly something for everyone.
A Weekend to Reconnect
This festival is more than just a weekend event—it’s a community tradition. Whether you're catching up with old friends, watching the kids win prizes, or dancing to local DJs, you’ll feel right at home. Last year’s turnout was the biggest in recent memory, and 2025 is shaping up to be just as exciting.
