‘A Quiet Place’ Super Bowl Trailer: Shhhhh, Or the Monsters Will Eat Emily Blunt
There’s a ton of big new trailers from the Super Bowl this year (Go Eaglers! Go Paletriots! Yay sports!) but don’t sleep on A Quiet Place, the new horror film from The Office’s John Krasinski and his real-life wife and fictional co-star Emily Blunt. The couple star as a family under siege from ... something. Whatever it is, this looks potentially very scary, especially because I am a very loud person by nature, which means I would definitely be the first person to get horribly eaten to death. Here’s the film’s official synopsis:
If they hear you, they hunt you.
Okay, not much of an official synopsis. But this much is clear: In this world, there are monsters. And these monsters have very good senses of hearing, kind of like my mother when I was a little kid trying to stay up late and read comic books. As the father of two small children myself now, I must say the fact that Krasinski and .Blunt have children to protect makes it particularly scary. Kids never shut up. Never. My daughter is currently screaming at full volume because she just used to potty. You think she’s gonna hush up when the sound monsters come? No way in hell.
There is also a new featurette for the film featuring an interview with director and star John Krasinski:
It seems kind of weird to cast your real-life wife in a movie where she is terrorized by unimaginable monsters. Then again, you know what they say: The movie that makes horror movies together, stays together. A Quiet Place opens in theaters on April 6.
