Actor 51 years old marries singer 16 years old.  Here, I'll do the math for you....35 years.  I don't know why this story bothered me.  Hugh Hefner, 80 something, was about to marry a 25 year old.  This bother anyone else?I loved the show "Lost" but I don't really remember this particular actor, Doug Hutchinson.  The girl, Courtney Alexis Stodden, is a so-called aspiring "country" singer  although I'm pretty sure I've never heard of her.  If you've seen any of her videos, which can be found on YouTube, I'm pretty sure what she's singing is NOT country.  And she does NOT look 16.

I don't see how you, as a 16 year old, decide to get married to someone who is that much olde. A few years I can understand but 35, no way.

Another question is this: where are her parents?  What made them say this was okay?

Oh, wait, her parents approved this!!!

“We are totally supportive of this marriage,” Courtney’s mother Krista Stodden told Radar Online. “Doug is a wonderful man and we love him.”

I guess I don't find the Hugh Hefner situation as disturbing because, well, he's known for marrying/living with  the young playmates.  However, they are of age.  The latest one was 25, she's old enough to make her own decisions.  Actually, she called off the nuptials, a smart decision in my eyes.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on this?  Could it be more of a publicity stunt to get their names into the the headlines (as I just did)?  If not, do you think they are really in love?  Would you let your 16 year old (boy or girl) marry someone that much older?
