The 4th of July is fast approaching; you only have a couple of weeks to get your plans in order. My family usually grills out, naps and then takes in a fireworks show when possible. I know there are neighborhood events and family events going on; what are some events that the public could attend?

I have to say that some days I wonder if patriotism is alive or not. Just watching the news these days you would think all of our pride, liberties, freedoms and patriotism seem to be going away fast. However, once in awhile you run across something that just makes the hair on your arms stick up and almost bring tears to your eyes. That's what happened when I saw this video.

It's the 4thof July and it's time for hot dogs, water melon and homemade ice cream, right? While I'm at it, I still don't understand the basis of a "food eating contest", in the past I've been asked to participate and very early on, I did participated in a few eating contests, but nothing like four-time champion Joey Chesnutt who defended his title as the "Champion Mustard Belt Hot Dog Eating Champion."
