Although Blake Shelton's fan favorite Kirk Jay lost the ultimate Voice title of Season 15 to Chevel Shepherd, the Alabama-bred singer still has found his way into some very influential country hearts indeed with his series-long selection of heartfelt song choices.

One group of admirers he managed to win over was none other than Rascal Flatts, who were duly blown away by his audition utilizing their 2004 hit ballad "Bless the Broken Road" (which, by the way, also earned him a four-chair turn). As Jay explained, "It was the first country song I ever heard in my life," detailing that he had heard the song on the way to school one day and experienced chills all over his body. "I started crying."

The trio took the stage with finalist Jay to perform their latest single, "Back to Life," which Jay poured all of his signature heart-on-sleeve emotion into.

In a bit of a surprise result given the outpouring of favor he's received from viewers over the weeks, Jay landed in third place, right behind fellow team Shelton member Chris Kroeze. But we're betting there's a country future ahead for this vocalist.
