What was once a promising development that would put Lynch back behind the camera for the first time in years has now become a disappointment, as Lynch has departed the project.

A 'Twin Peaks' revival has been something of a long-running joke since the show's 1991 ABC cancellation, with rumors emerging of a return every so often for the last 25 years, but you may want to put down that damn good coffee. Showtime has officially confirmed that David Lynch will return us to 'Twin Peaks' in 2016 for new episodes, picking up where the cult series last left off in the early '90s.
