Commercials and Curb Your Enthusiasm are about as close to a Seinfeld revival as we’ll ever get, but in an age where new Twin Peaks graces Showtime, anything seems possible. In fact, giving Seinfeld the same eerie teaser as Twin Peaks’ return might just make the best case, in a new parody you have to see.

Twin Peaks fans finally had their prayers answers with word that not one, but as many as four new episodes would premiere on May 21, to say nothing of the confirmed 18-episode order. Now, Showtime and David Lynch address if said 18 will prove the last of Twin Peaks, when we might expect a trailer, and what role the prequel Fire Walk With Me might play.

Showtime’s Twin Peaks has as already confirmed a vast majority of original series stars aboard for the 2017 revival, though it remained to be seen if creator David Lynch would step out from behind the camera. Now, a new teaser promises Gordon Cole’s return, as David Lynch enjoys one of Twin Peaks’ famous donuts.

It remains to be seen if Showtime’s Twin Peaks revival will answer any of the myriad mysteries left over by the initial run two decades ago, but first things first: we have to remember what those mysteries are. Thankfully, Showtime will help us out in December, streaming the full two seasons to subscribers ahead of the 2017 return.

Well this is not great news. After months of excitement over the prospect of a Twin Peaks revival series with original creator David Lynch, it seems as though negotiations have fallen apart. What was once a promising development that would put Lynch back behind the camera for the first time in years has now become a disappointment, as Lynch has departed the project.

A 'Twin Peaks' revival has been something of a long-running joke since the show's 1991 ABC cancellation, with rumors emerging of a return every so often for the last 25 years, but you may want to put down that damn good coffee. Showtime has officially confirmed that David Lynch will return us to 'Twin Peaks' in 2016 for new episodes, picking up where the cult series last left off in the early '90s.

While we anxiously await news of NBC's existing bubble series, the peacock network has officially begun handing out its pilot orders for 2013-2014.
