Abilene is a great place for all kinds of fun activities. While we are not a major state attraction we do have a lot to offer that is both kid and adult-friendly.
I tend to have a pretty short attention span at history museums, unless they are one of two thing: interactive, or disturbing. The Mütter Museum, a museum of medical history, is definitely the latter, and so it's thankfully not the former. You would not want to interact with the kind of twisted things they've got on display, but they sure are fun to look at.

Friends and family members of country legend Johnny Cash were on hand Wednesday morning to announce an 18,000 square foot museum honoring the life and career of the “Man in Black.” No exact date of the grand opening was announced for the downtown Nashville installation.
Johnny Cash grew up in the city of Dyess, Arkansas and Arkansas State University has purchased that home. Now a festival is planned to raise the money to restore the home.
