That Obi-Wan Kenobi ‘Star Wars’ Spinoff Is Officially in Development
As it turns out, asking Ewan McGregor about reprising the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi in a Star Wars spinoff is basically like a publicity version of Bloody Mary — say it enough times and it’ll appear. Despite the actor’s numerous expressions of interest in revisiting one of the only good things to come of the Star Wars prequels (aside from Watto, of course), the decision ultimately rests with Lucasfilm. And it looks like Lucasfilm is most definitely down.
Ewan McGregor Could See Himself Doing Two Obi-Wan Movies
Ewan McGregor Could See Himself Doing Two Obi-Wan Movies
When an actor expresses interest in returning to an iconic role, I always wonder whether the actor needs the movie more than the studio needs the actor. Ron Perlman, for example, has spent years talking up his interest in another Hellboy movie, despite it being fairly obvious that the studio had no real interest in getting that project off the ground. Then there was the mysterious third spinoff, which we haven't much concrete information on. Until now. A recent report suggests that despite earlier reports that the spinoffs wouldn't follow any Jedi or Sith characters, Lucasfilm is currently working with artists and a writer to develop an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie.

‘Mortdecai’ Trailer: Johnny Depp, and This Time He Has a Wacky Mustache!
Although the trailer doesn't sell any of the plot of 'Mortdecai,' it does sell Johnny Depp's newest weird character: a snobby art dealer who appears debonair but is actually a bit of a bumbling oaf. Depp doesn't wear any silly hats this time around, but he does have a silly mustache and a wacky accent, so everything balances out in the end.

Samuel L. Jackson Says ‘Star Wars: Episode 7′ Director J.J. Abrams Hasn’t Contacted Mark Hamill
'Star Wars: Episode 7' has been rumoring the return of original cast members since the project was announced, but as the film is taking a new direction now that J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan have taken over scripting duties, it's possible that the original cast may no longer have a role in the production. Former Jedi Samuel L. Jackson has spoken to Mark Hamill about returning as Luke Skywalker,
