Most people are familiar with the massive, and very impressive, Christmas tree that graces New York City’s Rockefeller Center every year. This tree has come to symbolize the holiday season for millions of people, and is something of national icon, appearing as a backdrop in countless movies and television specials.
Last week I posed the question; do you prefer fake or real Christmas trees? I mentioned that I although I love real trees my allergies don't allow me to have anything but a fake one these days. Seems those who voted in our online poll said they have to go with fake as well.
It’s perfectly normal to mark the holidays with a decoration or two. But the Rieken family in Texas takes their celebration of the season to the extreme by cramming over 200 trees into their home. Clark Griswold of ‘National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation’ fame would be proud!
I know the country is bad off right now financially but really, a Christmas Tree tax? Well yes and no. It was proposed by those folks in Washington D.C. that earn a lot more money than me, but looks like WE win, this time anyway. The tax was so ridiculed and criticized when revealed Tuesday that they decided to drop it Wednesday.
