Kelly Clarkson had a special honor during the 50th ACM Awards ceremony: the opportunity to present her mother-in-law Reba McEntire with a Milestone Award.

"I never could have imagined that we would one day ... not only become friends, but in the most crazy twist of fate, she would become my family," Clarkson shared in front of the packed audience. "I have the best mother-in-law and you all can suck it!"

McEntire walked out dressed in a shimmering sleeveless top, black jeans and tall boots. She performed her new single "Going Out Like That" in front of the crowd, and waved their cell phones and swayed along with the music as McEntire empowered them — especially the females.

McEntire has an impressive resume from past awards shows. She has received 13 ACM Awards and has hosted the ACMs a record 14 times.

"I sure shouldn't be here without you and I wouldn't want to be," McEntire told the fans as she accepted her Milestone Award. Her new album, Love Somebody, is out now.
