During his set at the 2017 CMA Music Festival in June, Keith Urban performed his hit single “Blue Ain’t Your Color.” Readers can press play above to see a snippet of the special performance.

In addition to getting to see a bit of Urban's sultry performance in this video, Urban explains a bit of its backstory: "It’s a magic song," he says. "I felt it the first time I heard it."

"When we put the album out, it was one of the songs that everyone was talking about long before it was a single," Urban adds. "The stars align sometimes, and those things happen.”

Released as a single in August of 2016, “Blue Ain’t Your Color” sat at the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for 12 straight weeks.

In the video above, Urban also talks about his love of the CMA Music Festival, formerly known as Fan Fair. The event has long been a summer staple in Nashville.

“It’s an adrenaline rush, but it’s always an electric crowd here,” he says. “It’s such a long tradition; back when it was Fan Fair, I used to go out to the fairgrounds, when it was out there, and watch it. For me, it’s just one of those events that you want to be a part of. I’m glad that I get to keep doing it.”

Country fans will get to see more of Urban's CMA Fest 2017 set when CMA Fest: The Music Event of the Summer airs on Wednesday (Aug. 16) at 8PM ET on ABC. Urban will be joined during the TV special by other country megastars such as Sam Hunt and Garth Brooks; Thomas Rhett and Kelsea Ballerini are co-hosting.
