Kane Brown made his Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo debut on Saturday (March 9) and in doing so, set a new record. Brown played for an audience of 75,126 fans and now holds the record for biggest country artist debut in RodeoHouston history.

Brown's concert at the 2019 event puts him at No. 15 for largest audience in Houston Rodeo history, overall.

The country star got a special surprise from event chairman, too — Jim Winne presented the hitmaker with a plaque to commemorate his single "Heaven" going four times platinum. The single followed Brown's earlier certification of his chart-topping single "What Ifs," which also has a four-time platinum status. This makes Brown one of only five country acts with multiple four-time platinum hits — an exclusive club that also includes Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Sam Hunt and Taylor Swift.

"Heaven" was country radio's most-played hit of the year 2018.

The attendance milestone was particularly meaningful for Brown because he attended the Houston Rodeo previously, but as a fan. As a kid, he said he and his grandfather and great-grandfather would even play 'rodeo' — both men are honored on the star's self-titled debut album through his songs "Coldspot" and "Granddaddy’s Chair."

Earlier in the week, Brown also got to celebrate another milestone with his inclusion in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's American Currents: The Music of 2018 exhibit. There fans can find his wardrobe from his first-ever American Music Awards, when he won three AMAs (Country Song, Best Country Album, Best Country Artist).

Coming up, the rising star is nominated for Single of the Year at the 2019 ACM Awards and for Country Song of the Year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
