Country traditionalist James Carothers has full album of George Jones covers due out this fall, but he's premiering the music video for one of them, "Sinners & Saints," exclusively for readers of The Boot. Press play above to watch.

A rollicking, rowdy time, Carothers' "Sinners & Saints" video flashes between party time at a honky-tonk and prayer time in church pews. Those scenes are interspersed with shots of Carothers bringing in a scruffy, modern version of some eternal and classic Jones wisdom: "The only thing different in sinners and saints / One is forgiven, and the other ain't."

Released as a single in 2000, "Sinners & Saints" appears on Cold Hard Truth, Jones' 56th full-length studio album, which was released in 1999. The song was written by JB Rudd, Vip Vipperman and Darryl Worley and peaked in the mid-50s on the country charts.

"Sinners & Saints" is one of 10 Jones covers on Still Country, Still King: A Tribute to George Jones, Carothers' forthcoming album. Set for release on Sept. 7, the album follows Carothers' years of performing at The George Jones, a museum, bar, restaurant and entertainment venue in downtown Nashville. He was hand-selected by Jones' widow Nancy for the gig.

2018 Ameripolitan Music Awards Outlaw Male category nominee, Carothers has opened for artists such as Cody Johnson, the Charlie Daniels Band and Joe Diffie. Later this year, he'll perform at the Grand Ole Opry for the first time ever, alongside Alan Jackson.

Carothers has previously released two other albums of original music: 2014's Honky Tonk Land and 2017's RelapseStill Country, Still King: A Tribute to George Jones is available for pre-order via iTunes, Amazon and more. Fans can keep up with Carothers at JamesCarothers.com.
