First dates can be a bit nerve wracking- so it comes as no surprise that many singletons are reaching for a drink right before the date! But just how much are Texas singles drinking before a first date? A new survey reveals all!

Your heart is racing, your palms are sweating and shaking! It's a rush, but a nervous kind of rush where you feel like maybe just one drink will help calm your nerves. But just how many drinks are Texans having before meeting someone for that first date?

According to Shane Co., in their "The States That Drink the Most Before (And During) a First Date" survey, turns out, Texas is near the top as a state that drinks the most!

To find out how much a state is actually drinking before a first date, Shane Co. surveyed 2,160 Americans who consume alcohol to get the details on their pre-date drinking habits.

Their survey ran from September 12, 2022, to September 19, 2022, and they surveyed an equal number of respondents in each state on how many drinks they typically consume(d) before and during a first date. From that survey, they calculated the national average. And where did Texas come in?

According to Shane Co., Texas singles have 3.10 drinks on average before their first date, which is 56.2% higher than the national average! Which doesn't seem so bad.

As for how much they drink during a date? Texas tops the list with five drinks during a date!

Going a first date can cause a bit of stress, so I'm no surprised that this is how much my fellow Texans are drinking before a date! Now, the only question remaining is "what's your poison?"
