Texas Brewery Drops Oklahoma Suks Beer Just in Time for the Red River Rivalry

This week on The Weekend Buzz, we’re cracking open a Texas tradition that talks trash right on the can, “Oklahoma Suks” from Independence Brewing Co. out of Austin, Texas.

Yeah, you read that right. It’s not just a beer; it’s a statement. Brewed every fall to coincide with the Red River Rivalry between the Texas Longhorns and those folks up north, this creamy ale is crisp, golden, and perfect for washing down some barbecue while yelling “Hook ’em!” at your TV.

Born from Burnt Orange Pride

Here at Independence Brewing, we bleed burnt orange. In fact, we were founded by two UT alumni, Amy & Rob. We also know that the only reason the state of Texas doesn’t sink into the Gulf of Mexico is because Oklahoma sucks. It’s a geological fact (we checked with professors in the UT geology department). Another fact: this crushable golden ale is the best nectar with which to salute the football gods when the inevitable comes to pass and Oklahoma loses. Hook ‘em! (Independence Brewing)
