This Interactive Play Coming to Abilene Is Starting Conversations Across Texas
Abilene’s theater scene is about to get a little spicy, but in the thoughtful, artsy, conversation-starting kind of way.
At the end of January, the Big Country Women’s Healthcare Fund is bringing an interactive solo play called Holy O to the Black Box Theater next to the Abilene Community Theater in Abilene for two nights only: January 30 and 31.

What Is Holy O?
Written by and starring ACU alum Lauren Hance, Holy O follows a character named Vera, a woman who wants to become a nun… but can’t quite let go of her past, her doubts, or her complicated relationship with pleasure and faith.
Yeah, it goes there.
The show blends comedy, drama, audience interaction, and real women’s stories into one immersive experience that asks a simple but loaded question: What happens when faith, doubt, and desire all collide at the same time?
Why This Show Is Getting Attention Nationwide
This isn’t just a random touring production. Holy O has been officially selected for multiple festivals, including Denver, Vancouver, Omaha, Capital Fringe, and Solofest, so it’s already made waves well beyond West Texas.
Now it’s Abilene’s turn.
When and Where to See Holy O in Abilene
The performances take place January 30–31, 2026, right next to Abilene Community Theater at the Black Box Theater in Abilene. Seating is limited, and judging by the buzz, those tickets won’t sit around lonely for long.
It’s presented by the Big Country Women’s Healthcare Fund, which supports women’s health access and education across the Big Country. So your ticket does some good while you’re having your mind mildly blown.
