The injury happened in the 4th quarter with a little over 8 minutes left to play in the game. The Lions were trying to drive down the field to take the lead when starting quarterback, Jared Goff, threw a pass down the middle of the field where Lewis was there waiting.

As it turned out, it was the last play of the season for the promising cornerback.

Lewis was able to secure the ball for the interception but went down on his foot awkwardly. He tried to get up and jog off the field but had to have help. Eventually, he would be carted off the field. Late Sunday, Lewis had surgery on the foot.

The injury is a pretty big blow for the Cowboys as Lewis carries quite a bit of experience at the slot corner position. But, the Cowboys do have quite a bit of depth this year so look for them to remain a top-tier defense.
