These Urgent Dogs in Abilene Need You (Yes, You) Right Now
If you’ve even thought about getting a dog lately in Texas, the universe has just handed you a neon sign, and it’s blinking 'URGENT' in big red letters.
This week at All Kind Animal Initiative in Abilene, several pups are staring down the clock. The shelter is once again packed tighter than a Saturday night at a Texas honky tonk, and these sweet dogs are running out of time.
But hey, let’s start with the good news.

Snoopy and Hercules Found Their Happily Ever After!
That’s right! Two of our recent Urgent List VIPs, Snoopy and Hercules, have found loving forever homes and left the building. We’re doing cartwheels (figuratively… no injuries, please) over here because that’s exactly what we’re fighting for.
So, if you needed proof that adopting works? Boom. There it is.

Let’s Talk About This Week’s Urgent List
All Kind Animal Initiative has worked its tail off (pun intended) to reach no-kill status, but there’s only so much space. Though this week’s list is smaller, it’s still a heartbreaker.
Some of these dogs have been in the shelter for months. Not because they’re bad dogs, but because the right human hasn’t found them yet. Some are shy. Some are full-on derpy goofballs. Others just need a peaceful home to nap in and forget the chaos of kennel life.

Adopt or Foster: Both Save Lives
Even if you can’t adopt permanently, fostering just one dog buys another pup time. It opens up a kennel, and it makes room for the next dog in crisis. Plus, it makes you a legit lifesaver.
Not all heroes wear capes. Some just carry treats and have lint rollers.
