Easton Corbin brought his love of traditional country to his hour-long set early Friday evening (June 17) during Day 2 of the 2016 Country Jam. Performing a slew of his radio hits as well as the classics he grew up on by artists like Joe Diffie, Alan Jackson and Toby Keith, Corbin had fans singing along under the hot Colorado sun.

"We ain't coming down tonight," the singer said after performing energetic set opener "Let's Ride." "It's good to be in Colorado today. Y'all have to sing it with us if you know it."

He then segued into 2014 single "Clockwork" before playing 2015's "Yup," which saw him walking on the catwalk urging fans to join in.

Having grown up in a small town in Florida, Corbin said halfway through his set that there are more people attending the festival than live in his hometown. Fittingly, he then shared with fans a taste of his childhood soundtrack, which transported the open field beside the Rocky Mountains back in time into a singalong of country staples including Diffie's "John Deere Green," Keith's "Should've Been a Cowboy" and Kenny Chesney's "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy." Later, he'd perform a spot-on cover of Alan Jackson's "Where I Come From."

Corbin's brand of country is best described as traditional-meets-modern and songs like fan favorites "Roll with It" and "Lovin' You Is Fun" exemplify just this, blending the old with the new. He later sang his latest single, the fiddle-driven "Are You with Me," which he dedicated to the veterans, including his father.

"I've dreamed of the day I could say this is my brand new song on country radio," he said of the heartfelt ballad.

Closing his set with the always fun "All Over the Road," it was evident that Corbin's deep voice and penchant for classic country songs combined with fiddle and pedal steel accompaniment make him an ideal opener for George Strait or Alan Jackson.

Country Jam runs through Sunday (June 19) in Grand Junction, Colo.
