Emerging singer-songwriter Dustin Collins has a new single to share, and he's giving The Boot's readers the first listen. Press play below to hear "The Barn."

Written by Jack Williams and Troy Johnson, "The Barn" is, as Collins describes it, "a fun summertime tune with a rockin' groove." He calls it "kinda nostalgic" -- but also, "kinda sexy."

"Anything goes up under this tin roof / I won't tell a soul if you don't want noone to know," Collins sings in the upbeat chorus of "The Barn." "Cross my heart / What happens in the barn stays in the barn ..."

A Kentucky native, Collins is signed to Average Joes Entertainment and is working on a new album, to be released in July. He's been around music since childhood: His father and uncle were both musicians.

"I grew up in a recording studio, just sitting and watching. At first I thought it was boring; I brought this little case of Matchbox cars, and I'd be playing with them," Collins recalls ... but in high school, he discovered that he wanted a career in music, too. “I stayed in my room most of the time as a teenager, learning how to play guitar."

Collins has spent time on the road with, among others, Aaron Watson and Kane Brown. Visit DustinCollinsMusic.com for more on upcoming shows.
