The Abilene Zoo's 'Christmas Celebration 2020' sponsored in part by Reliant Energy, will features Santa Claus and his magical reindeer. This is the first time that I have personally, have ever heard of Santa showing up with his reindeer at the Abilene zoo.

This year's event includes an awesome showing of lights throughout the park. The Abilene Zoo has been completely decorated for the holidays with lights, trees and all sorts of Christmas decorations that will put any scrooge into the holiday spirit.

I think that having Santa Claus making an appearance with his reindeer is the coolest thing ever. However, Jesse Pottebaum the Zoo's Executive Director says "we just didn't stop there."

Director Pottebaum says "there's also an ice-skating rink, a professional ice sculpture show, and experience the true spirit of the season, by taking a 'Walk to Bethlehem' with a real live nativity scene. Take in the magical display of lights and experiences a Caribbean Christmas too. Fire & Ice, the Nutcracker, Lone Star Christmas, Santa’s Reindeer Stables, Enchanted Elm and transporting guests into a wild winter wonderland. All this can be done while adhering to all the CDC, State and local guidelines. Supporting the community’s health and safety is of the utmost importance to the Abilene Zoo and by us implementing certain procedures and protocols for outdoor open-air events as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will help in making this a safe and fun event."
