Family Fun Awaits at Abilene’s NCCIL With Illustrator Events
Abilene is proud to be home to the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature—known locally as the NCCIL or simply “the Nickel.” For years, families across West Texas have enjoyed its books, art, and events. My own daughters and now my grandkids love spending time there. This October, the NCCIL is hosting something extra special that parents and children won’t want to miss.

Some events require tickets, while many are open to the public at no cost—making it easy for families to join the fun.
