Old Dominion Take Home Vocal Group of the Year at the 2018 ACM Awards
Congratulations to Old Dominion, the 2018 ACM Awards Vocal Group of the Year! They had some tough competition from their fellow nominees, Little Big Town, Lady Antebellum, Lanco and Midland, and take home the title in a surprise award that had the group in high spirits on Sunday evening at the awards ceremony.
Lead singer Matthew Ramsey was exuberant accepting the award."A lot of people make a lot of sacrifices in order for us to be where we are right now," he admitted.
He then summed up the award perfectly, looking at his bandmates and exclaiming, "Look at us! We look good, we feel good, we're friends and we're having a ball!"
The five-member country band Old Dominion earned their third consecutive nomination in this category in 2018. They've had a big year, with their sophomore album, Happy Endings, releasing on Aug. 25. It's the follow-up project to Meat and Candy and includes hit songs such as "No Such Thing as a Broken Heart" and "Written in the Sand."
In 2018, Old Dominion kicked off their Happy Endings World Tour, and they'll head to the UK this fall. While there, they'll play for fans in Dublin, Ireland; London, England; and more.
