Two respected artists from two different musical genres are releasing a special version of their time together. Country stars the Zac Brown Band and rocker Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters have announced that the release of 'The Grohl Sessions Vol. 1' CD and DVD combo pack will be May 19th.

The 4-song EP was released by itself last December, and now the DVD is coming to add to the experience. The entire package will include a full-length album, plus a 50-minute DVD, which included interviews with Brown, Grohl and the band. The video will also feature studio performances and behind-the-scenes bonus content. Check out this preview of the DVD:

This is clearly a Zac Brown Band project, so expect the album to be heavily country with the trademark ZBB harmonies and great songwriting. But Grohl is taking on the role of producer, so don't be surprised that the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will be adding a little more punch to the usually laid back country singer's sound. Grohl also plays multiple instruments and sings, and will be lending those talents to the album.

Of course, 'The Grohl Sessions Vol. 1' DVD promises to be enjoyable for Zac and Grohl fans, but this is a pretty special project for all fans of music, because it combines two of this generation's greatest talents in their respective genres. A behind-the-scenes look at the making of the project promises to be video gold.
