The World’s Most Expensive Bacon Sandwich

If there is one thing the internet has taught us it’s that people really love bacon. A coffee house in Cheltenham, England is betting that there are folks out there who love the cured meat so much that they would be willing to shell out 150 pounds ($237) for what they are calling the Bacon Bling sandwich.
At the heart of the sandwich are seven slices of rare pig bacon. The pork is covered with sliced truffles, saffron and a free-range egg. Then it’s topped with edible gold dust just because.
Paul Philips, the owner of Tangberry coffee house, hopes to have his creation recognized by Guinness as the world’s most expensive commercially-available bacon sandwich. However, as of now, the record keeper doesn’t have such a category.
But the good news is that it’s all for charity. Yes, Phillips will be donating all the proceeds from the concoction to a children’s charity and another which helps veterans when their service is over.
So if you like your gluttonous conspicuous consumption with a side of social awareness, this could be the sandwich for you.
