I know a couple of people who could probably go an entire week speaking in nothing but movie quotes. You probably know someone like that, too. The guy at work who seems to quote a movie with every conversation, or finishes emails with "Stay gold, Ponyboy", and always seems to have what he thinks is the perfect quote to draw the parallel between film and real life.

I believe there's a little bit of that person in all of us.

My favorite movie quote is one that I have repeated to my son dozens of times. "There's no crying in baseball!". It's from "A League of Their Own", where Jimmy Dugan (Tom Hanks) makes Evelyn (Bitty Schram) cry. For the record, this clip has a couple of swear words deleted out, so it's kid-friendly.

Jimmy makes a valid point. Everybody should know, you don't throw home when you have a 2-run lead.

How about this one, from "Shawshank Redemption"? Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) says it, and so does Red (Morgan Freeman), which sums up the whole movie in a few words, "Get busy living, or get busy dying.".

A coworker of mine (who shall remain nameless) recently quoted "As Good As It Gets" in attempting to describe his understanding of women. He took his philosophy from Melvin Udall (Jack Nicholson), answering a question posed by a receptionist (Julie Benz)

Those are just a few examples of favorite movie quotes. Now, I want to know yours. Please share your thoughts in the comment section below.
