'The Walking Dead' season 4 won't officially burst through the gates until October 13, but you needn't wait an additional two weeks for fresh corpses! The third official tie-in 'Walking Dead' web series "The Oath" has hit the internet, intersecting with the series proper to reveal the origins of one of its most classic moments.

Unfolding over three installments, ‘The Oath’ sees the sole survivors of a massive walker attack, Paul (Wyatt Russell) and Karina (Ashley Bell), desperately searching for medical care as one slowly bleeds out from an earlier injury. Once the pair find a hospital that has not yet been overrun by the walking dead, they quickly find an otherwise benevolent doctor ('Hannibal' and 'Pushing Daisies' star Ellen Greene) who slowly reveals a more sinister agenda.

Unlike the previous year's web series "Cold Storage," you won't see any familiar characters popping up in photographs, though one very familiar location will set up an important moment from the series' pilot, and raise some serious questions about what leading characters might lie nearby. Not to mention, it looks as if Michonne might have picked up a few tricks from our leading characters!

“The webisodes give us a unique opportunity to see other parts of the ravaged world of ‘The Walking Dead’ while weaving in and out of our show,” said director Greg Nicotero. We previously had some ideas about ‘The Walking Dead”s eventual “companion series” spinoff that could feature the webisode characters, and the proof is in the pudding!

Prepare for 'The Walking Dead' season 3 with the complete "The Oath" web series above and below, and tell us what classic moments you'd want to see revisited in the new season!
