Abilene State Supported Living Center is HOME to people with developmental/intellectual disabilities. We teach residents skills to give them independence and a great quality of life. AbSSLC employs over 1400 people from Direct Support Professionals, Occupational/Physical Therapists, Physicians, Psychiatrists, Pharmacists, Plumbers, Electricians, Nutritionists, Custodians and MORE

They Can Answer Questions Relating to:

How to work with people with developmental disabilities and mental illness.

How to make mobility devices (wheelchairs) to fit certain body types or address swallowing issues.

How to use ‘hand-over-hand’ assistance to help people with craft projects

How a Sensory Garden can calm the mind and spirit.
