An investigation into a triple homicide that occurred on Audubon Avenue in Owensboro Thursday has led to two arrests.

Owensboro police are reporting that 30-year-old Arnett B. Baines and 31-year-old Cylar Shemwell have both been charged with three counts of murder and one count of 1st-degree assault.

The OPD also identified the victims as 43-year-old Jay Sowders, 35-year-old Robert D. Smith Jr, and 18-year-old Christopher Carie.

Another victim, 35-year-old Carmen Vanegas, is being treated for her injuries.

Police were called to the 900 block of Audubon Avenue Thursday morning where they found two of the deceased.

The third succumbed to his injuries at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.
